SCHOOL GROUPS
Shakespeare's writing was meant to be spoken, not read! The best way to see MacHomer is to see the full play in a theatre, with the lights, the staging, and the audience's laughter. The 75-minute show is a terrific trip for middle or high school students sinking their teeth into Shakespeare for the first time. Ask your venue about school shows, or special student and group rates.
“The works of William Shakespeare can be difficult to grasp, but a contemporary spin makes Macbeth easier to understand. The theater specifically booked MacHomer to attract younger audiences, as well as those who don’t normally go to theatrical performances. The result was seven sold-out performances.”
- New Jersey Courier-Post
“Giving the bloody Elizabethan revenge tragedy cartoon-comic resonance not only made the play immediately accessible to a young generation, it also gave Shakespeare’s moral message ironic relevance.”
- Ottawa Sunday Sun

IN-SCHOOL EVENTS
If you and your class can’t make it to see MacHomer live on stage, WYRD Productions also offers a range of daytime workshops and presentations right in your school or institution, to bring Shakespeare to life with participation, performance, and healthy doses of humor!
Use the Present MacHomer form to request availability, and more information on how MacHomer can “strut and fret an hour upon YOUR stage”!
“I have heard nothing but great things from all of the students who were there. While I feel that your performance stands alone very well, I have found myself using your characters to help students compare and contrast the characters in the play. They have much faster recall of the story than I remember previous classes having. Another wonderful situation, which I believe is directly attributable to you, is the large number of my students who have signed up to attend Stratford to see Hamlet. I believe that the Grade 11 students of this year have understood the benefit of seeing Shakespeare performed as an aide to their understanding. I did have fun and I was particularly thrilled at how enthused my students were."
- Kathleen Bourne, Agincourt Collegiate Institute
